Problem Note 43676: Changes to request and reply variables for events and processes cause unexpected changes to downstream nodes in decision diagrams
SAS® Management Console plug-in for SAS Customer Intelligence enables you to modify SAS® Real-Time Decision Manager events and processes. However, decision diagrams or campaigns that use the modified event or process might also be modified incorrectly.
In SAS Real-Time Decision Manager 5.3, the reply node variable assignments and process node input variable assignments are deleted. In addition, the reply node arbitration process and treatment campaign set variable assignments are deleted. This occurs even for minor changes to the event or process, such as a change to the Display Name or addition of a new process variable. The nodes that experience these changes often incorrectly retain their "Ready" status in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio.
In SAS Real-Time Decision Manager 5.4, most changes to events and processes do not cause variable assignments to be deleted. However, there are some cases where this behavior still occurs:
- The display name is changed.
- An identifier is added or changed.
- The variable type is changed from scalar to list.
- The value for "Required" is changed.
When you change a process or event, open each decision diagram or campaign that uses it and check that the process or event variables assignments have been retained or reassigned.
